Suzanne Corbeil
Founder and Principal

Suzanne Corbeil launched Corbeil Consulting Inc. (CCI) in the fall of 2009 following a 40-year career in the public and not-for-profit sectors. Most recently, Suzanne served as the inaugural Executive Director of The U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities. During her tenure at The U15 she brought her extensive experience in not-for-profit start-up to create an effective organization, supporting the collective interests of 15 of Canada’s research-intensive universities and developing a strong governance structure. Prior to launching CCI she served as Vice-President of External Relations and Communications at the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) where she was a key player in advancing the public agenda in science and technology, and instrumental in building strong relationships in all levels of government and among a variety of academic and not-for-profit partners. Suzanne was the visionary behind the creation of the Science Media Centre of Canada serving as the Founding Chair. She has broad experience with not-for-profit boards including: Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services, Actua, the Rideau Club, and the Board of Governors of Laurentian University. Through CCI, Suzanne has mentored and provided career coaching to several individuals, guiding them through successful personal and career transitions. 


Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Justice and Psychology from Laurentian University, an Advanced Management Certificate from McGill and an Honours Diploma in Social Sciences from Cambrian College. She brings strong human relations and interpersonal relationship skills to achieve success in all of her endeavours.

Lauren Mann
Governance & Membership 

Lauren Mann is an experienced bilingual professional with extensive experience in association management in the not-for-profit sector. She has held positions at the Federation of National Specialty Societies of Canada, Speech-Language & Audiology Canada, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada. With extensive experience working closely with executive boards of multiple societies, she is goal oriented, analytical, and has reliable knowledge and experience in governance policies and procedures. Lauren is a strong team leader whose experience has honed her skills in project management, membership communications, meeting planning, and website development.

 

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa and a certificate in Project Management.

Lindsay P. Mann
Communications & Engagement 

Lindsay P. Mann is a professional communications specialist with a background in writing and editing. She has worked with a variety of Canadian publications, including literary and industry magazines, membership-based newsletters, and promotional materials. Lindsay offers transparent communications and specializes in tailoring her work to suit her clients' voice and brand. With a strong background in project management, she is able to work on existing projects or assist in planning and designing budding proposals. She also offers a high degree of expertise in social media marketing strategies. Meticulously organized, Lindsay offers big picture perspective through to to the slightest detail, achieving a well-balanced outcome.

 

Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology from Carleton University.

Stefka Zaharieva
Executive Accounting

Stefka Zaharieva has achieved success both within organizations and as an independent virtual controller. Her applied knowledge of tax concepts and forms gives her an advantage in filing returns, preparing projections and compiling data. Her analytical precision allows her to focus on minute details while keeping broader goals in mind. A team player, Stefka adeptly multitasks daily activities, such as payroll and reconciliations, while meeting all project deadlines. As a virtual controller, she assists in the development and maintenance of non-profit organizations, as well as small- and medium-size companies. In addition, she provides expert training to professionals who wish to learn more about their accounting software and she creates training manuals for supplementary support.

Stefka is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with more than 20 years experience and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a Specialization in Accounting from the University of Ottawa.
